New Way to Find Google Products

Google is doing some housekeeping with their Google bar, the bar that appears above the search results and across many of their properties and apps. The search giant announced it is redesigning and streamlining the way people go between different Google products, and also making it the same regardless of which type of platform you use, be it a desktop or a mobile device.

 

Google has also made a change to the color of the bar. Many people have become used to the black bar that appears the top. Now that bar is light gray.

In addition to updating the bar, Google is also adding a new app grid, which can be found on the right side of the bar, next to the Google+ bell alert icon. This will be familiar to those who use Chromebooks and Android devices, as they already use the app grid. It allows easy access to switch between various Google properties, such as between Gmail, Google Maps, Google News, and Google search.

 

Finally, Google has updated the color palette and letter shapes of the Google logo as part of the new design. Here’s what Google’s previous logo looked like:

Google is the latest search engine to unveil a new look, joining Bing and Yahoo, which both recently debuted new logos.
